About UsNorth Highland Tourism Ltd is one of the elements of HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay's North Highland Initiative. Launched by Prince Charles in August 2005, The North Highland Initiative is intended to assist with the economy of the North Highland's by raising the profile of the area through its quality food and drink products, its tourism and the quality of the built environment. North Highland Tourism also Launched by Prince Charles in August 2006, is a business-led organisation. It aims to increase the number of tourists to the area, to extend their stay in this unique and beautiful part of the Highlands and to develop the current tourism season by highlighting how much there is to see and do throughout the year, outwith the summer months. The Tourism arm was originally brought forward by a Steering Group chaired by Robert Powell, including Lord Maclennan and Robert Gray from the North Highland Initiative, and a group of Operators including trade representation from both the Caithness and the Sutherland Partnership Tourism Forums. In April 2006 the membership voted in a formal Board of Directors made up mainly of the Steering Group, chaired by Murray Lamont, to bring forward the work already begun, progressing to a Brand Logo, a Marketing Strategy and the all-important Website which also enables new members to join, thereby encouraging Visitors to come and stay in the area. Branding and Website development consultants were employed and various funding packages sourced. The branding is now complete, and this World-Wide-Web constructed and launched. The Marketing Strategy is completed and adopted for use, and a Marketing Company is working on our behalf.
