Pete Duncan23 January 2007 @ 09:13 My friend Sylvie and I spend three weeks every summer in the Unapool / Kylesku area and never tire of the superb mountain and coastal walks. Having that choice means that if the tops are in cloud, mist or rain, there is always an alternative low level activity to keep us on the move. The light is excellent for photography and the myriad changes of mood on the lochs is endlessly fascinating. David Evans22 January 2007 @ 23:10 In the 60s I saw John Lennon perform many times at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. In 1976, attracted by the landscape and culture of the North Highlands, I moved from Liverpool to Inverness. When the Northern Times was celebrating its centenary year I was responsible for mounting an exhibition. Imagine my surprise to find in the archives that John and Yoko had been patients in the Lawson Memorial Hospital in Golspie. John loved the Highland landscape as I do, and he loved the music of words and poetry too. Annemarie Villarreal22 January 2007 @ 23:05 I am originally from Glasgow, I came to the states when I was 6 years old and have never been back, but I feel that it calls to me, I long to see it again. Any recommendations on "must sees" and "must does" are very welcome at gerardhorstman@hotmail.com Gerard Horstman22 January 2007 @ 22:25 We are about to explore Sutherland and Ross this year. After 2 great Scotland experiences last year and the year before we are about to explore a for us new area of beautiful Scotland. I will certainly share our experiences at the end of this season. Hope the weather will be as friendly as last 2 summers. If not, we’ll take a few extra drams in stead and the weather will clear up in our heads. Really looking forward to the real Highlands. Andrew Law22 January 2007 @ 09:32 Why are you advertising this? Please keep it's unspoilt natural beauty a secret to those of us who have been fortunate enough to have visited the area. Patricia and David Betts22 January 2007 @ 09:25 A beautiful site bringing back many happy memories of holidays spent in The Highlands with our family. David's great grandfather, Donald MacKay, left the Rogart area in the early 1840s to sail to Nova Scotia. He married Ann Munro and brought up seven children in the same house, which to this day is our family home. Patricis and David Betts, Sturminster Newton, Dorset, January 2007 Deborah McLeod-Morris22 January 2007 @ 02:56 Having recently visited Sutherland area, I can personally attest to the beauty of the area, especially Lochinver, Achemelvich Beach, the old mill, Ardvreck Castle, and all the surrounding towns. Every view is a postcard. Part of my heart was left there and I shall be back. Everyone we met was helpful and kind. Best of all, the Scottish wit. Beautiful website. The photos do justice, I can feel I am back. |
